Andy Moore (Brazil) After a decade of praying, laboring, building, and organizing, the First FWB Church of Juiz de Fora has transitioned into the hands of a Brazilian pastor. This local church has reached the measures of an autonomous church which are: self-governing, self-propagating, and self-supporting. The new pastor, Ricardo has previously pastored two FWB churches in this region.  He is a talented musician, singer, and an excellent preacher and teacher of the Word of God. He is also gifted in the area of administration and has great organizational skills. Our family will continue ministering in Juiz de Fora in a support role into 2020 to ensure a smooth transition. We are still excited and burdened to take the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to Brazil and Beyond. There is still so much to be done. Thank you for your prayers, partnership, and support that makes what we do here in Brazil possible. Every soul that is reached in this church from now until eternity will be due, in part, to your support and prayers for this ministry.  The Moores

Bobby Poole (Brazil) I accomplished something, yesterday, that I have never done in all my life! I finished my second reading of the Bible this year!  Next year I plan to read both my English and Portuguses Bibles during 2020! Prayer needs: There seems to be a lot of hard feelings, among the folks of the Marincek Church. People getting offended at what someone said or did, and they are holding their feelings in their hearts, instead of forgiving one another and loving one another. We, as a Church, need to apply II Chronicles 7:14 to our Church life! Please pray that the Holy Spirit will move among our Church family.

Carlisle Hanna (India) Is currently Stateside. Please pray for the work in India as well as for the pastors and evangelists currently serving there; many amid daily persecution. Also please pray for the FOI Board meeting that will take place on Friday January 17 at the SCFWB State Office
David Aycock  (Brazil) Greetings from Barbacena, Brazil! We are grateful for God”s blessings. One of His blessings was to have our children and grandchildren with us for the Christmas season.  As we look forward to what the Lord has for us to accomplish in 2020 we count on your prayers and financial support. We are growing our Sunday School from one adult Sunday School  class to three. We are hoping to finish the construction of the Christian School this year. We will continue to train several for leadership roles. There are unsaved people on our list we hope to win to the Lord this year. Thank you for partnering with us. David and Annette

Jonathan/Amy Postlewaite (Bulgaria) This morning I was joined on my run by “E”, an international student from the UK. I had thought that he was a Christian based on the fact that he grew up in church and that he currently helps out with a church here in town, but he told me that he decided several years ago that he didn’t really believe in God. During our time together we talked about morality and about absolute truth. Pray that I will have many more opportunities to speak to him and that God will give me the right words to help him discover the truth about God and about himself. Pray for “Y”, a lady who has been helping Amy improve her Bulgarian writing skills. She asked Amy if they could have a serious conversation this Friday about what she wrote in her most recent essay (how we can know God as our Heavenly Father). As a result of this year’s Christmas parties, we were invited to do some follow-up community initiatives in the village of Batsova Mahala. We also met a believer who lives in that village. Tomorrow we are planning on going there to get to know this person better and to explore future opportunities for outreach and discipleship. Please be praying for this meeting and for future opportunities in this village.

Neil/ Mandi Morgan (Spain) Please pray as they are laboring diligently in the Alcala Church as well as for some new opportunities in the neighboring town. nmorgan@iminc.org
Randy/Kris Valandingham (Aiken) Please pray for the Church in Aiken as they are currently in a remodeling program

Tim/ Kristi Johnson (Spain) It’s hard to believe we are already into 2020!  Our new year is starting off with a return to men’s and women’s Bible studies, English conversation times, field team meetings, and much more.  This coming Sunday, we will have a special workshop on the topic of “Depression”, given by a lady in our church who is a psychologist.  So many people here in Spain suffer from anxiety and depression and we are praying that God will use this time together to help us know how to better minister to the needs of the people around us who are suffering.

Mirial Gainer (Japan) The doctor decided surgery was not needed for my left leg. I’m continuing exercises at home for my left hand/arm and left leg. I’ve regained much movement with my left hand and fingers but have more work to do to get full use back. I did have another small stroke the Friday after Thanksgiving and spent a week in MUSC Hospital Florence Center. Thankfully, I didn’t experience much damage from it.
*Rev. James Childers (Beaver Creek) Please continue to remember him in prayer, as he continues to have cancer treatments.
*Sis. Lisa Evans (Rickey) Please pray for her as she has started treatments following a recent surgery
*Rev. John Cody (True Life) is recovering from a broken ankle. Please remember him in prayer.

The Problem With Squirrels

Let me know if this is a familiar scenario. You are driving down the road and a squirrel decides to cross the road in front of your vehicle, so far, so good. Everything is going fine as the rodent makes his way to the other side. Then for no apparent reason the animal changes his mind and goes back the other direction. What happens next is not pleasant…well at least not to me, but it is all too common.

The Apostle James while speaking on asking for wisdom,  in faith made the following statement. “Jas 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”

Much like the squirrel in my introduction, James refers to the instability of a double minded man. I think we would all do well to be steadfast in mind and heart especially in things concerning The Lord.

Solomon said “Pr 6:6 ¶ Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:” Well I am just saying go to the squirrel and consider its ways, and don’t do likewise.

Blessings in Jesus Dear Name!
