Andy Moore (Brazil) Our family is back in Brazil after spending six month in the U.S. It was so nice to get back to some warm weather and a blessing to see our Brazilian church family and to enter the new year together with them.  We are excited and optimistic as we enter this year with all it’s opportunities and challenges.  Please continue to pray for our church as we transition to national leadership. Thank you for your prayers and support in 2018. –The Moores

Bobby Poole (Brazil) Thanks to everyone who has prayed for the Marincek Church as it´s new Pastor (Pr. Myron) has taken over the leadership. His dear wife, reminds me a lot of Geneva, as she is working with the children. Please continue praying for the Church. The First Church presented their Christmas music program two nights at the First Church and later sung in at least 4 hospitals. I don´t have any fixed jobs, now, at the Marincek Church, so I trust that in the near future I will be able to visit some of our other churches, with a disire to encourage them in their work for the Lord.

Carlisle Hanna (India) is stateside. Please remember him in his travels and ministry. Please remember the works in North & South India as well as Nepal.

David Aycock  (Brazil) The Lord really blessed as we presented our Christmas play a revised story of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”. We had 171 in attendance with 70 visitors. As we enter the new year we have received 9 new church members. We continue praying for funds to complete our Christian School building. We would like to finish by the middle of the year. Thanks for your prayers and financial support, David and Annette

Jonathan/Amy Postlewaite (Bulgaria) Please be praying that people will be able to stay healthy and well during this time as many parts of the country are currently experiencing a flu epidemic. Kids in our area, and several other areas, have the week off of school on account of what is called a “flu vacation”, which is an attempt to keep the virus from spreading more than it already has. Some of our “seeker” friends who have visited Bible studies that we lead have been struggling with conflicts or grudges against other people who visit these studies. Pray that God will help us know how to be peacemakers and to explain to them the biblical way to deal with these issues. Pray that the growth of individuals and of the church would not be hindered by a spirit of disunity. Next week on February 3-5, we will be hosting a quarterly team meeting with the other IM church planters in Bulgaria. Pray that God would give us guidance, direction, and encouragement as we plan and make decisions regarding joint projects that we hope will advance God’s kingdom in Bulgaria.

Matt/Hailie Deckard (Ecuador) Please pray for endurance for our team; as we all will be very busy over the next couple of months, and also safety and prepared hearts of the people that will be coming down to serve with us. mattdeckard.10@gmail.com

Neil/ Mandi Morgan (Spain) We are excited about a new event we are trying February 1 as an outreach. Mandi will be leading a painting party for women at our house. We will be painting Valentine’s pictures and talking about love. Please pray for the logistics of this event and for those who will come. Also, our church is beginning to look for a new location again. Please be in prayer for God to provide the perfect location to bring Him the most glory and for the location to be a reasonable price. nmorgan@iminc.org

Randy/Kris Valandingham (Aiken) We thank everyone for their continual prayers and support for the work here at Rejoice Fellowship. Please remember them as they start the year off with discipling new believers on matters of stewardship.

Tim/ Kristi Johnson (Spain) We shared with many of you while we were in your churches this past year about the ministry that we have been doing in a nearby nursing home.  Just last week when our group arrived, we found out that one of the ladies had passed away the night before.  It was a reminder of the urgency of getting the Gospel to not only our nursing home friends, but also to people of all ages in Spain.  Today we had a ladies’ Bible study with not one, but TWO new ladies who are still seeking for the Truth.  Pray with us that God will give us opportunities to share His Word this coming week in a way that people will understand and accept Him as their Savior.

Mirial Gainer (Japan) My eyes are doing well after cataract surgery. I’m using glasses for reading but not for driving. I’m finally finished with my neck braces. So thankful that the surgery was successful and the numbness in my hands is gone. I would appreciate continued prayers for Mother and for me as I care for her.

*Rev. James Childers (Beaver Creek) Is dealing with the side effects of Cancer treatment, and goes on the 7th for a PET scan. Pray for favorable results and relief from treatment side effects.

*Rev Galen & Barbara Dunbar  please remember both of them as they have been quite under the weather lately. Mrs. Dunbar has been in the hospital recently

*Rev. Bennie Turner (Eastern Conference) continues to receive regular dialysis please continue to remember him in prayer.

The God Who….

Ne 9:7 Thou art the LORD the God, who didst choose Abram, and broughtest him forth out of Ur of the Chaldees, and gavest him the name of Abraham; (KJV)

This exact phrase only appears in the bible in this one verse. In this verse we see that God is described in three ways. Each description is of an action rather than an attribute. I particularly like this fact because He is a God of action.

  1. The God who chooses:
    1. who didst choose Abram
    1. This makes me thankful that he chose me
      1. Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
  2. The God who brings forth:
    1. and broughtest him forth
    1. This indicates that it is God who guides our steps
    1. Ps 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way
  3. The God who gives:
    1. and gavest him the name of Abraham;
      1. Abraham wasn’t just given a name; he was given an identity
    1. God gives us our identity
    1. 2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
