The meeting this year will have a strong emphasis on prayer. IM director Clint Morgan will be our Thursday night speaker. More information, including a program will be made available soon. 2019 Mileage Rates Have changed and will likely affect ministers on their taxes.

The 2017 tax reform act has changed the way ministers can receive deductions/reimbursements from mileage accrued while conducting ministry on behalf of their congregation. While the rate has changed from 54.5 cent per mile in 2018 to 58 cent per mile starting in 2019, ministers will no longer be able to receive the mileage rate as a deduction on their taxable income. Ministers are still allowed to receive a tax free reimbursement from their employers of 100% of their ministry mileage traveled. For more information The FWB board of Retirement has an article click here.

Andy Moore (Brazil) The ministry in Juiz de Fora, Brazil continues to progress. In July, we had V.B.S. and two teens from our church got saved at youth camp.  Currently, our family is in the U.S. and will be here through Christmas.  We are reconnecting with our churches, while our kids attend Christian school for a semester.  In our absence the associate pastor, Luiz Carlos, is leading the church and its ministries.

Bobby Poole (Brazil) Thanks to everyone who has prayed for the Marincek Church as it´s new Pastor (Pr. Myron) has taken over the leadership. His dear wife, reminds me a lot of Geneva, as she is working with the children. Please continue praying for the Church. The First Church presented their Christmas music program two nights at the First Church and later sung in at least 4 hospitals. I don´t have any fixed jobs, now, at the Marincek Church, so I trust that in the near future I will be able to visit some of our other churches, with a disire to encourage them in their work for the Lord.

Carlisle Hanna (India) is stateside. Please remember him in his travels and ministry. Please remember the works in North & South India as well as Nepal.

David Aycock  (Brazil) The Lord really blessed as we presented our Christmas play a revised story of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”. We had 171 in attendance with 70 visitors. As we enter the new year we have received 9 new church members. We continue praying for funds to complete our Christian School building. We would like to finish by the middle of the year. Thanks for your prayers and financial support, David and Annette

Jonathan/Amy Postlewaite (Bulgaria) Because of interpersonal conflict and politics the mayor has decided to no longer let us use the room that we had used for our weekly kids’ club. As of right now we do not have another place to gather. Please be praying that we will be able to find a place to meet with the kids and maybe to start a Bible study with adults. We believe that God will open doors for us in His time if it His will for this work to proceed. I’ve also mentioned G and G before. They are the couple who let us use their yard for the kids’ club when it was still warm. For several important reasons we felt it best to move to a different location once it got cold and we needed somewhere inside. When we made this decision and told them about it they seemed to be okay with it. Last Saturday, however, I learned that the husband was very upset with me over this decision despite my assurance that it was never personal. He also threatened to keep his kids from coming as long as we met somewhere else. Neither of them are Christians and are very superstitious, the husband flat out told me that he would not read the Bible even though he claims to be a believer. The basically are trying to win favor with God and to look spiritual to the rest of their village. (I have learned since Saturday that the husband had been told by a fortune teller to search out Christians in order to find healing for his schizophrenic son). We really want to keep working with their kids and to help them understand that “salvation is by grace through faith and not by works”. Please pray that God would give us wisdom in dealing with this family and this issue. Despite these setbacks, we have made several connections in Odarne. Last Sunday we went to a birthday party there and met a few more families. Please pray that God will use these relationships to help us make disciples among these people. P is one example of these contacts. He is a young man who I have crossed paths with several times while I’ve been there. He speaks English well and is very knowledgeable about religion. When I spoke to him Sunday I was able to very clearly tell him that true faith was not a matter of sitting in church, but about a relationship with Christ. Pray that God would work in the lives of P and all the others who we still have contact with despite the enemies attempts to stop the spread of the Gospel.Thank you so much for standing with us in prayer. If you would like more information about our work, please do not hesitate to ask. If you would ever be interested in having us talk live with your congregation or small group via Skype we would love that opportunity.

Matt/Hailie Deckard (Ecuador) Please pray for endurance for our team; as we all will be very busy over the next couple of months, and also safety and prepared hearts of the people that will be coming down to serve with us. mattdeckard.10@gmail.com

Neil/ Mandi Morgan (Spain) Our year ended with our Christmas program, and it went very well. Then, we kicked the year off with a leadership dinner as a way to say thank you to all of our national leaders in the FWB churches in Spain. It went very well too. We know that the success of both of these is largely due to the prayers of so many of you. Thanks for interceding on our behalf. Please pray as we begin our English class again Monday and have several upcoming meetings to plan events for this year. Join us in praying for wisdom and guidance. nmorgan@fwbgo.com

Randy/Kris Valandingham (Aiken) As we finished off the month of November and move into the Christmas season we just want to take a minute and thank the Lord for all the great blessings He has given us here at Rejoice Fellowship. We are excited that we have two more to baptize in the next few weeks. God had been working in the lives of our people and souls have been changed. We have other new family that visited during our Thanksgiving service and had been faithful to every service since. Pray with us that God will direct them to become a part of our church family. We have seen a few past visitors in the last week. We pray that they will continue to join us through this holiday season and that God will show them their need for him. We thank everyone for their continual prayers and support for the work here at Rejoice Fellowship.

Tim/ Kristi Johnson (Spain We arrived in Spain on Friday afternoon, and have been busy getting settled ever since.  We were able to be a part of a special appreciation banquet for the leaders in our Free Will Baptist churches on Friday evening, where we spent time honoring and encouraging them for their service.  Saturday we spent time with some of our contacts in Alpedrete, and Sunday we enjoyed being at the Alpedrete Church.  Continue to pray for our family as we transition into a new work in the coming months.

Mirial Gainer (Japan) I am healing slowly from my neck surgery. I also just had my other cataract surgery. Hopefully I’ll be seeing better in both eyes soon. Thanks for keeping me in prayer.

*Rev. James Childers (Beaver Creek) please remember him in prayer as he undergoes treatment

*Rev. Bennie Turner (Eastern Conference) continues to receive regular dialysis please continue to remember him in prayer.

Making God Marvel

In all of scripture I only find two places where Jesus Marveled. One is found in Lukes account of the measure of faith of the Centurion who had requested healing for his servant

Lu 7:9 When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

The second account of Jesus being wowed or marveled is over the lack of faith among people in his own country.

Mr 6:6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.

Are you making Jesus say wow?
