Missions

Andy Moore (Brazil) Our family is back in Brazil after spending six month in the U.S. It was so nice to get back to some warm weather and a blessing to see our Brazilian church family and to enter the new year together with them.  We are excited and optimistic as we enter this year with all it’s opportunities and challenges.  Please continue to pray for our church as we transition to national leadership. Thank you for your prayers and support in 2018. –The Moores

Bobby Poole (Brazil) I would like to thank all who remembered to pray for the 46th Family Retreat during Carnaval, here in Brazil. They had a good attendance and from what I have heard, people were blessed by the program and the studies that were given. A good number from the Marincek Church went over on Monday and spent the day. Now diferent ones are making plans for a special Easter program. Also, as in years past, the Church is preparing to participate in the WMO that is set for April 29. Our new pastor, Pr. Myron, has taken the leadership in this and this past Sunday small containers were given to the children in SS and also to each family present. I have been asked to share with the SS and the evening service information about International Missions and the areas of the world where we are working. I tried to encourage each one present, that they can be a missionary, right here in Ribeirão Preto, tell our families, friends, and contacts about the Good News of the Gospel. Pr. Myron has started a prayer chain, asking us to pray each night for salvation of lost souls around us.

Carlisle Hanna (India) Please pray for Bro. Carlisle, Don, Mark, and Sis.  Milly Hanna as they travel to India on March 10,and 12. Pray for Annual Conference coming up in March (Speakers, provisions for those attending, safety, moving of the Holy Spirit, etc). Theme: Philippians 3:14 Pray for Hostel (Boy’s Home) ministry. Pray for South India and Nepal ministry.

David Aycock  (Brazil) Now that Carnaval is over here in Brazil, the country is ready to start a new year. In the meantime we have finished the Developing Your Character college level course, progressing in three evangelistic Bible studies, preparing for  the children’s program for the year (we appreciate our two oldest daughters and their  families involvement in the work) and putting in place volunteer Sunday School teachers for the year. Thank you for your prayers and your financial support. Please keep the construction of the Christian School in your prayers. Funds are needed to be able to finish by the middle of the year. Thank you! David and Annette

Jonathan/Amy Postlewaite (Bulgaria) This afternoon (morning for most of you) I will be meeting with H, the man who we first met through our JPense event last August. H has read parts of the Bible and believes in Jesus to some extent, but he struggles with the idea of assurance of salvation and has found it hard to find victory over certain sins in his life. Pray that God will give me wisdom to know the right words to say to him. Pray also that H will be willing to meet with me regularly to study the Bible so that he can begin to grow in his understanding of God’s Word and in his faith. Over the last several weeks we have been excited to see a little bit of growth in our two weekly times of worship and Bible study (one for Bulgarians and one for International students/English-speakers) and we are excited to bring them together this Sunday, March 24th for our monthly “gathering”. Please pray that those who have attended these other meetings will be able to invite some of their unsaved friends to join us and that everyone who attends will grow in their relationship with Christ through the meeting. Yesterday we went to the village of Odarne with the lady who organized the Christian camp that we want to take some kids to this summer. Every family we talked to responded very positively to the invitation, however a couple of mothers don’t want to send their kids because there isn’t enough space for them to attend as well. Please pray that God will work things out so that either space will open up for these women to attend or that they will be willing to trust me and the other workers who will be taking care of their kids at camp.

Matt/Hailie Deckard (Ecuador) Please pray for endurance for our team; as we all will be very busy over the next couple of months, and also safety and prepared hearts of the people that will be coming down to serve with us. mattdeckard.10@gmail.com

Neil/ Mandi Morgan (Spain) We are praising the Lord for a lady and her 3 sons who visited our church on a previous Sunday. We have had 7 first time visitors this month. We are excited about our church responding to the call to share the good news. Join us in praying for these people who are searching and for us as we follow up with them.nmorgan@iminc.org

Randy/Kris Valandingham (Aiken) We thank everyone for their continual prayers and support for the work here at Rejoice Fellowship. Please remember them as they start the year off with discipling new believers on matters of stewardship.

Tim/ Kristi Johnson (Spain) We are praising God for the good group of people who attended our first session of “English Connection” conversation time in our new target area.  We have sensed His leading in many ways, and we are looking forward to continuing the relationships that were started last week.  Pray for seven different individuals who have attended so far.  THANKS for your prayers!

Mirial Gainer (Japan) My eyes are doing well after cataract surgery. I’m using glasses for reading but not for driving. I’m finally finished with my neck braces. So thankful that the surgery was successful and the numbness in my hands is gone. I would appreciate continued prayers for Mother and for me as I care for her.

From Wailing To Worship

I read the following devotion this morning and took some time to think about those battling with cancer. I’m sure many of you have loved ones and may even be dealing with this awful disease directly.

Kim began battling breast cancer in 2013. Four days after her treatment ended, doctors diagnosed her with a progressive lung disease and gave her three to five years to live. She grieved, sobbing prayers as she processed her emotions before God for the first year. By the time I met Kim in 2015, she had surrendered her situation to Him and radiated contagious joy and peace. Though some days are still hard, God continues to transform her heart-wrenching suffering into a beautiful testimony of hope-filled praise as she encourages others. Even when we’re in dire circumstances, God can turn our wailing into dancing. Though His healing won’t always look or feel like we’d hoped or expected, we can be confident in God’s ways.           (Author Xochitl Dixon, Our Daily Bread)

Ps 30:11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; 12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee forever. (KJV)
