2019 SCFWB State Meeting
The 77th annual meeting of the SCFWB State Association will be held on February 28-March 1st. This year’s meeting is hosted by the Central Association and will take place at White Savannah Free Will Baptist Church located on State Highway 65, Conway SC. The meeting this year will have a strong emphasis on prayer. IM director Clint Morgan will be our Thursday night speaker. More information, including a program will be made available soon. 2019 Mileage Rates Have changed and will likely affect ministers on their taxes.
The 2017 tax reform act has changed the way ministers can receive deductions/reimbursements from mileage accrued while conducting ministry on behalf of their congregation. While the rate has changed from 54.5 cent per mile in 2018 to 58 cent per mile starting in 2019, ministers will no longer be able to receive the mileage rate as a deduction on their taxable income. Ministers are still allowed to receive a tax free reimbursement from their employers of 100% of their ministry mileage traveled. For more information The FWB board of Retirement has an article click here.

Andy Moore (Brazil) The ministry in Juiz de Fora, Brazil continues to progress. In July, we had V.B.S. and two teens from our church got saved at youth camp. Currently, our family is in the U.S. and will be here through Christmas. We are reconnecting with our churches, while our kids attend Christian school for a semester. In our absence the associate pastor, Luiz Carlos, is leading the church and its ministries.
Bobby Poole (Brazil) The Marincek Church has a new pastor. Pr. Myron. Please pray for him and all our pastors, here in Brasil. FWB have invested a lot over the years and our missionaries and Churches have made a “Difference”. To our Lord all the glory!
Carlisle Hanna (India) Is stateside. Please remember him in his travels and ministry. Pray for pastor Phillip Das as he was in an accident recently. Please remember the works in North & South India as well as Nepal.
David Aycock (Brazil) We are gearing up for Christmas activities and presentations. Materials are not always readily available so we normally have to write or translate our Christmas plays. These are opportunities to have new people to attend our special activities. Our Seminary classes are going well and we plan to finish the beginning of December. We are offering membership classes for those who were recently baptized. Thank you South Carolina for your prayers and financial support.
Jonathan/Amy Postlewaite Pray for our friends P and J. They are the owners of the factory in the village of Koynare at which we hosted a Christmas party last Friday, which was a great success by the way. P is from England and J is Bulgarian. We were able to spend some time at their house after the party and talk to them while our kids played together. Please pray that the truth which we shared at the party will have an impact on them and that they will find salvation that only Christ can offer.2. Please pray for our work in the village of Odarne. The party that we hosted there last Saturday was also a success. Several adults attended the program and expressed interest in learning more about what we talked about. Please pray that we will continue to make relationships with the people who live there. Pray that God will give us wisdom as we learn more about the cultural differences that exist between people in villages and people in cities. Pray that God will continue to give us favor with the mayor so that we can continue to meet with the kids in the space he is allowing us to use. Pray for S, the believer who has been helping us since we first started working there. Pray that God will give her the boldness to share her faith with her friends and neighbors. 3. Pray for our H and for his village which is called Opanets. H came to the JPense event last August. I have met with him a couple of times and while he has shown interest in the Bible and in the general idea of faith he has been hesitant to commit to anything regular. Up until now we have met here in the city of Pleven, but I would like to visit him in Opanets soon because there is no church there. Pray that H will desire to know more about Christ and that he will be the first of many disciples made in the village of Opanets.
Matt/Hailie Deckard (Ecuador) Please pray for endurance for our team; as we all will be very busy over the next couple of months, and also safety and prepared hearts of the people that will be coming down to serve with us. email@example.com
Neil/ Mandi Morgan (Spain) We were really excited to have a college aged guy visit our church this past Sunday. He says he will be back next week. Please pray for him. Also, we are making many preparations for a Christmas program this year. Please pray for these preparations and that many will come to see the play. firstname.lastname@example.org
Randy/Kris Valandingham (Aiken) As we finished off the month of November and move into the Christmas season we just want to take a minute and thank the Lord for all the great blessings He has given us here at Rejoice Fellowship. We are excited that we have two more to baptize in the next few weeks. God had been working in the lives of our people and souls have been changed. We have other new family that visited during our Thanksgiving service and had been faithful to every service since. Pray with us that God will direct them to become a part of our church family. We have seen a few past visitors in the last week. We pray that they will continue to join us through this holiday season and that God will show them their need for him. We thank everyone for their continual prayers and support for the work here at Rejoice Fellowship.
Tim/ Kristi Johnson (Spain The countdown is on for our return trip to Spain. We’ve said most of our goodbyes. We’ve packed most of our suitcases. And we’re almost ready for the flight on Thursday afternoon. Please pray for our family during this transition time as we leave Alejandro here in the States at Welch College and return to our ministry. THANK YOU for being a part of sending us to Spain!!!
Mirial Gainer (Japan) I am healing slowly from my neck surgery. I also just had my other cataract surgery. Hopefully I’ll be seeing better in both eyes soon. Thanks for keeping me in prayer.
