SCFWB Weekly Vol 5 No 30

The SC WAC Retreat will be held September 7th and 8th at White Oak Conference Center in Winnsboro. Kristi Johnson will be our guest speaker and we have an exciting time planned for our ladies. We will have a ‘gift card shower’ for their family at the retreat. Gift cards may be purchased at Walmart, Target, and Restaurants. These will be greatly appreciated by the Johnson’s as they are home and will benefit them with their needs as Alejandro will be a freshman at Welch College this coming fall. Mark your calendars to attend the retreat and more information will be available at the state women’s meeting.
The $25 registration fee for the South Carolina can be sent to the ATTN: of Cathy Logan, 1580 Potter Rd, Lancaster, SC, 29720 by July 30th. The remainder of $50 will be paid upon arrival at White Oaks Conference Center on September 7th.

Andy Moore (Brazil) This year is shaping up to be a great year for our church. We have started several new ministries, our attendence has picked up, and we are having a great spirit in our meetings and services. Thank you for your prayers and support of the ministry here in Juiz de Fora, Brazil.
Bobby Poole (Brazil) I was able to come to the States the first of July and attend the National at Little Rock. I rejoice to have been able to meet up with old class mates from my Bible College days, see pastors and Church folks that we had met up with over the many years of deputation services. I will be in TN. for a service at my home Church, Shady Grove, near Clarksville, TN and in SC for the Lake City Grace Church, for their Home Coming. Being without my own transportation limits my time in each State. Pray for me as I return to Brasil the middle of September. Also pray for the Marincek Church in Ribeirão Preto as it is seeking the will of our Lord, for the one to take my place as pastor. Thanks to all who have supported and prayed for Geneva and myself, over these almost 58 years. (We were married on September 04 and left for Brasil on Dezember 14, 1960, 58 years ago.)
Carlisle Hanna (India) Brother Carlisle has arrived back in India. Please pray for his VISA renewal efforts. Please remember the works in North & South India as well as Nepal.
David Aycock (Brazil) We are grateful for your prayers and financial support. Recently a married couple gave their lives to the Lord after an evangelistic Bible study. Pray for their spiritual growth. We have been preparing several new converts and transfers for membership. The construction of the Christian School building continues. Our target is to finish this Fall. We are need of funds, but the Lord is faithful and we believe He provides through His people. If you haven’t yet given toward this project, we trust you will pray about it and give as the Lord leads. Thank you, David and Annette Aycock
Jonathan/Amy Postlewaite Right now we are at a Christian kids’ camp on the Black Sea. There are quite a few kids here who do not come from Christian homes and who have very little to no Christian influence in their lives. There are also quite a few who are from our area to whom we could possibly continue to reach out when camp ends. Please pray that all of the workers here will be able to have an eternal impact on the lives of these kids. Pray that we will be able to stay connected with kids from our area after camp ends. Pray also that everyone will stay healthy and safe in the sweltering August heat. Next Tuesday, August 14th a group from Nantes, France will be arriving. They will go first to the city of Shumen to help the Provows (Josh and Lydia) clean up their new property and to hand out fliers for an upcoming Bible study. After that they will be joining us in Pleven to help with a big evangelistic event. The team is made up of two missionary couples, the Reeves (David and Myriam) and the Teagues (Joel and Lydia), as well as several people from their church. Please pray that they will be to arrive safely and that God will use their time here to impact both the work here in Bulgaria and the lives of the people who come to serve. Please pray for G. He is a medical student from Sweden. He accepted Christ earlier this year and shortly after that we started doing discipleship together. We had to take a break from discipleship for a few months because he was traveling, but he is now back in Pleven and we have resumed. I have been very encouraged by his responses to what we have talked about and really feel like I can see growth in his life, however it has been hard to convince him that it is possible to find time to be a diligent student and to study his Bible regularly. Please pray that God will help to learn how to manage his time effectively so that he can grow both as a student of medicine and as a student of God’s Word.
Matt/Hailie Deckard (Ecuador) Are Currently Stateside: Please pray for endurance for our team; as we all will be very busy over the next couple of months, and also safety and prepared hearts of the people that will be coming down to serve with us. firstname.lastname@example.org
Neil/ Mandi Morgan (Spain) We are so thankful for two volunteers from our church to help teach a kids’ Sunday School class. Please pray as we meet to organize and prepare to start this new ministry in September. Also, we are still searching for a new location for the church to rent. Please be in prayer for this need.
Randy/Kris Valandingham (Aiken). God is blessing us here at Rejoice. We are continue to see fruits from our VBS. We are thankful for the families that God has given us here that are faithful in sharing the work and inviting the people they come in contact with. Pray for us as we have a special Sunday August 12th in the am service with Preacher Jacob Berry. Thank you for all your prayers and support.
Tim/ Kristi Johnson (Spain)
The Alpedrete Church had its “Game On” VBS this past week, with classes for both kids and teens. We were thrilled to hear about many unchurched kids who attended and were able to hear the Gospel and experience God’s love shown to them. Continue to pray that the Truth they heard will work in their hearts and lead them to a relationship with Jesus.
Mirial Gainer (Japan) Monday I saw my surgeon again. I will continue wearing the bone fusion stimulator 4 hours each day for 6 more months. Thankfully, I can begin to wean off the neck brace which I had been wearing 24/7. The swelling hasn’t completely gone and I’m still having some pain. The decompression seems to have been successful in relieving pain and numbness in my hands. The fusion will take months to heal.
I came back to Florence April 22 and continue to look after Mother although I am limited in what I can do right now.

Paul’s concern that his Jewish brothers and sisters would come to Christ echoes the heart and plan of the Father for both Jew and Gentile. Hebrews 2:9 tells us that Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. God’s concern is for all to come to Him through the sacrifice of His Son. This idea resonates with Peter, who declared, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9). Notice God’s great concern for this broken, rebellious world. Not only has He provided in Jesus a sufficient sacrifice, He also extends patient love to people who do not know Him. Truly, as John 3:16 tells us, this is evidence of a God who so loved this world that He would pay the greatest possible price to satisfy His desire to reach to us. This is the great good news of the gospel!
