The SC WAC Retreat will be held September 7th and 8th at White Oak Conference Center in Winnsboro. Kristi Johnson will be our guest speaker and we have an exciting time planned for our ladies. We will have a ‘gift card shower’ for their family at the retreat. Gift cards may be purchased at Walmart, Target, and Restaurants. These will be greatly appreciated by the Johnson’s as they are home and will benefit them with their needs as Alejandro will be a freshman at Welch College this coming fall. Mark your calendars to attend the retreat and more information will be available at the state women’s meeting.

The $25 registration fee for the South Carolina can be sent to the ATTN: of Cathy Logan, 1580 Potter Rd, Lancaster, SC, 29720 by July 30th. The remainder of $50 will be paid upon arrival at White Oaks Conference Center on September 7th.

Andy Moore (Brazil)  This year is shaping up to be a great year for our church.  We have started several new ministries, our attendence has picked up, and we are having a great spirit in our meetings and services. Thank you for your prayers and support of the ministry here in Juiz de Fora, Brazil.

Bobby Poole (Brazil) We have 19 hospitals in our city.  Doctors and administrative personnel recognize the importance of “Spiritual help” as they treat  those that are under the hospital´s care. Yes it is open to all groups but our First FWB Church has an active participation in this ministry. John at this moment as I write, is in the Children´s division of the University of São Paulo´s Clinica Hospital. Pray for those that are involved in this ministry.

Carlisle Hanna (India) Brother Carlisle has arrived back in India. P,ease pray for his VISA renewal efforts. Also Binita (wife of Rev. Evan Guha) went back for the first time to work today since her stay in the hospital from medical complications during childbirth and their newborn son Ryan.  Please remember the works in North & South India as well as Nepal.

David Aycock  (Brazil) We are grateful for your prayers and financial support. Recently a married couple gave their lives to the Lord after an evangelistic Bible study.Pray for their spiritual growth. We have been preparing several new converts and transfers for membership. The construction of the Christian School building continues. our target is to finish this Fall. We are need of funds, but the Lord is faithful and we believe He provides through His people. If you haven’t yet given toward this project, we trust you will pray about it and give as the Lord leads. Thank you, David and Annette Aycock

Jonathan/Amy Postlewaite I am thanking God for the opportunity two meet two international students last week. One of them is a Christian from Nigeria who is one of the leaders of the Christian student union at the university. Pray that our new friendship will be mutually beneficial and that we can find ways to work together in the future to reach the students and the city for Christ. The other student  I met was a young man with Syrian heritage who grew up in Canada. He calls himself a Muslim, but also admits to being agnostic. Pray that I will be able to have many more conversations with him about faith and that I will be able to show him that salvation can only be found in Christ. Next week we will be spending our week at a Christian camp on the coast. I am in charge of games and Amy will be teaching several kids’ lessons from the life of David. Pray for the kids who will attend. Pray that those who are Christians will grow in their faith and that those who are not will see their need for salvation and will give their lives to Christ. Please be praying for our big outreach event that we will be conducting on Saturday August 18th. I have been blown away by the way God has brought things together and am very excited about the new relationships and opportunities that might come out of it. Please pray that we will be able to deal with all of the remaining details and that our promotional efforts will yield good results. Pray that God will help me to trust Him with those elements that are outside of my control and that I won’t let them worry me too much.

Matt/Hailie Deckard (Ecuador) Are Currently Stateside and are attending the National Convention. Please pray for endurance for our team; as we all will be very busy over the next couple of months, and also safety and prepared hearts of the people that will be coming down to serve with us. mattdeckard.10@gmail.com

Neil/ Mandi Morgan (Spain) Over the past two Sundays, Neil has had the preaching responsibilities at our church. He will be preaching this coming Sunday as well. Please be in prayer for him as he prepares and for hearts to be receptive to the word of the Lord. Please also continue to pray for a building for our church. We truly desire God’s provisions and His guidance in this next step for our church.

Randy/Kris Valandingham (Aiken). God is blessing us here at Rejoice. We are continue to see fruits from our VBS. We are thankful for the families that God has given us here that are faithful in sharing the work and inviting the people they come in contact with. Pray for us as we have a special Sunday August 12th in the am service with Preacher Jacob Berry. Thank you for all your prayers and support.

Tim/ Kristi Johnson (Spain)

The Alpedrete Church had its “Game On” VBS this past week, with classes for both kids and teens.  We were thrilled to hear about many unchurched kids who attended and were able to hear the Gospel and experience God’s love shown to them.  Continue to pray that the Truth they heard will work in their hearts and lead them to a relationship with Jesus.

Mirial Gainer (Japan) Monday I saw my surgeon again. I will continue wearing the bone fusion stimulator 4 hours each day for 6 more months. Thankfully, I can begin to wean off the neck brace which I had been wearing 24/7. The swelling hasn’t completely gone and I’m still having some pain. The decompression seems to have been successful in relieving pain and numbness in my hands. The fusion will take months to heal.

I came back to Florence April 22 and continue to look after Mother although I am limited in what I can do right now.

Four Years

Four years ago today I started training with Bro. Todd Smith for the position I now hold. The whole month of August (2014) I tried to soak up everything I could. The time was well spent, however I could have used another month at least! Looking back over the last four years, I feel that we have been able to accomplish some meaningful things for the Kingdom of God, and I am thankful for God’s call to this position.

It has been a personal goal of mine to earn the trust of our pastors and church people. By God’s grace I believe we are on our way to accomplishing that goal. We hope that God will continue to use us mightily here in this office in the years to come. Thank you all for your support and prayers.
