The SC WAC Retreat will be held September 7th and 8th at White Oak Conference Center in Winnsboro. Kristi Johnson will be our guest speaker and we have an exciting time planned for our ladies. We will have a ‘gift card shower’ for their family at the retreat. Gift cards may be purchased at Walmart, Target, and Restaurants. These will be greatly appreciated by the Johnson’s as they are home and will benefit them with their needs as Alejandro will be a freshman at Welch College this coming fall. Disaster Relief Efforts

Leonard Restoration Project

Saturday was a great success. We were able to get The Ramp built and Electrical Roughed in. Still need to finish Rails around the ramp, and tie the water in. If you can help with this, please contact Chris at the SCFWB State Office. 843-657-2091

Andy Moore (Brazil)  This year is shaping up to be a great year for our church.  We have started several new ministries, our attendence has picked up, and we are having a great spirit in our meetings and services. Thank you for your prayers and support of the ministry here in Juiz de Fora, Brazil.

Bobby Poole (Brazil) We have 19 hospitals in our city.  Doctors and administrative personnel recognize the importance of “Spiritual help” as they treat  those that are under the hospital´s care. Yes it is open to all groups but our First FWB Church has an active participation in this ministry. John at this moment as I write, is in the Children´s devision of the University of São Paulo´s Clinica Hospital. Pray for those that are involved in this ministry.

Carlisle Hanna (India) Please pray for Brother Carlisle as he is making plans to travel back to India. Please pray for the continuing persecution of Christians in India, as well as the upcoming elections. Please remember Binita (wife of Rev. Evan Guha) as she continues to recover from medical complications during childbirth and their newborn son Ryan.  Please remember the works in North & South India as well as Nepal.

David Aycock  (Brazil) The Lord continues to bless His work here in Barbacena, Brazil. Please pray for Vanessa. Annette and I are doing an Evangelistic Bible study with her and we hoping she will make a decision soon. We have 18 people enrolled in our Seminary (Bible College level courses). The work continues on the construction of the Christian School. We appreciate your prayers and financial support.  Please prayerfully consider having a special offering for the construction of the school. Thank you, David and Annette Aycock

Jonathan/Amy Postlewaite  Over the next several weeks, efforts to minister to kids will be made in all three of the cities in which we currently have works. The Awtreys (Tim and Lydia) and the Provows (Josh and Lydia) are hosting a VBS based on the creation story this week in Svishtov. Next week here in Pleven Amy and I will be conducting a kids’ English camp. And during the first week of July, the Trifonovs (Trif and Vanya) will be conducting a Bible school in  Varna with the help of  a group of college students from America. Please pray that each of these efforts will have a great impact on the kids involved and that we will be able to show the love of Christ to the kids and their families. Pray for Lex, a young man who I met last Saturday. Lex studies civil engineering in Scotland. His mother introduced us to him because he is interested in practicing his English while he is home for the summer. We are going to try to see each other every Wednesday in order to talk. Pray that I will be able to use our conversations to not only help him improve his English, but also to help him see the love of Christ and the hope, which can only be found in him. This Sunday, June 17th we will be hosting another “Gathering” in our house. The theme this time will be prayer. Please pray that it will be well attended. Pray that the Christians be challenged to improve their prayer lives. Pray those unbelievers who attend will understand the fact that God is accessible and that we can come to Him because of the work of Christ. Pray also that the unbelievers with whom we are working will finally choose to give their lives to Christ.

Matt/Hailie Deckard (Ecuador) We will be traveling back to the states on July 9th. This will be an overnight flight, as Ecuador very rarely does flights to the US during the day. Please pray that things will go smoothly and that we all will be able to rest some on our way back to the States. Pray especially that Samuel will do well on the airplanes and in the airport. He hasn’t flown since we arrived almost a year ago. Our short term team season has officially kicked off. We will have atleast one team here every week from now until the time we leave. Please pray for endurance for our team; as we all will be very busy over the next couple of months, and also safety and prepared hearts of the people that will be coming down to serve with us. mattdeckard.10@gmail.com

Neil/ Mandi Morgan (Spain) Praise the Lord with us that we arrived safely in Spain last Thursday. Please continue to pray as we begin reconnecting with people. Pray for wisdom and opportunities to share. nmorgan@fwbgo.com

Randy/Kris Valandingham (Aiken). Things are going great at Rejoice Fellowship. We had a baptism on June 3rd and had 53 in attendance for our worship service. We are getting ready for VBS June 24th – 28th. We have had several families register online that have no affiliation with Rejoice Fellowship. Continue to pray for us as we reach out into the community that God will open the doors for us.

Tim/ Kristi Johnson (Spain) We are in our final days here in Spain before heading to the States for a six-month stateside assignment.  Our travels will have us in Michigan for the summer months and in South Carolina from mid-August through mid-December.  We are looking forward to seeing many of you and would LOVE an opportunity to come to share about our ministry with your church, youth group, ladies’ or men’s groups, etc.  We already have several churches on our calendar, so please contact us at tjohnson@fwbgo.com if you’d like to schedule us to come and be with you!

Mirial Gainer (Japan) Monday I saw my surgeon again. I will continue wearing the bone fusion stimulator 4 hours each day for 6 more months. Thankfully, I can begin to wean off the neck brace which I had been wearing 24/7. The swelling hasn’t completely gone and I’m still having some pain. The decompression seems to have been successful in relieving pain and numbness in my hands. The fusion will take months to heal.

I came back to Florence April 22 and continue to look after Mother although I am limited in what I can do right now.

*Sister Cyndi Squires (wife of Rev. Don Squires) Recently had Back Surgery please remember her in prayer.

*Rev. Bruce Jones (Black River) continues to have elevated blood pressure, please to pray for him.

*Rev. Bennie Turner (Eastern Conference) continues to receive regular dialysis please continue to remember him in prayer.

*Sister Cindi Mosley-  (Wife of Rev Charles Mosley) We are rejoicing that her cancer is in remission, please pray for her as she continues to have regular checkups.

Committed unto doing God’s Will

14  That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.

There was a man who was gifted and I mean gifted at doing nothing. The sign on the stage proclaimed: “The Motionless Man: Make Him Laugh. Win $100.” The temptation was irresistible. For three hours boys and girls, men and women, performed every antic and told every joke they knew.

But Bill Fuqua, the Motionless Man, stood perfectly still. Fuqua discovered his unique talent at the age of fourteen while standing motionless in front of a Christmas tree as a joke.

Doing nothing is really impossible–even for the Motionless Man. He may not laugh at your jokes, but he readily admits that he still has to breathe and blink–occasionally. Sometimes, however, he appears so motionless during his routines at shopping malls and amusement parks that he is sometimes mistaken for a mannequin.

“The Motionless Man.” Sounds like a lot of churches today. They have mastered the fine art of doing almost nothing.

Is this also true of us personally when it comes to the Lord and serving?
