Two Truth and Peace Weekend events happening in MARCH
After more than 30 years of the Truth & Peace Student Leadership Conference, we thought this would be the perfect way to give even more students the opportunity to explore their leadership potential.
Andy Moore (Brazil) As we continue to push forward in this new year, we are thanking the Lord for opportunities to serve Him here in Juiz de Fora, Brazil.
We have restarted our weekly outreach ministry by giving free English classes on Saturdays and we are preparing for a baptismal service this month. Also, our church is now involved monthly in ministering to a group of twenty orphans. Please pray that we can show the love of Christ to these emotionally and spiritually needy children.- The Moores
Bobby Poole (Brazil) In the last three weeks I have counseled three couples. They are Christians but are feeling the pressures of making a living and paying the bills. Brasil has an unemployment rate of 12% and a very large percentage of those working are unregistered and have no benifits, such as health and retirement. In my 3 cases they began to take our their feeling on one another. Please pray for these three couples and their children. I told them that if one wanted to argue, let the other just request that they pray together about the problem. One couple told me that praying is working! Praise the Lord!
Carlisle Hanna (India) 1. Continue to pray for financial needs FOR our Pastors and Workers. Also, due to the extremely difficult financial situation India is undergoing in its banking system pray that we will be able to get much needed money to our Pastors and workers as well as FOR them. 2. Pray for Upcoming Conference and Conference Speakers (Usually ten to fifteen thousand in attendance). A TREMENDOUS amount of work and financial effort goes into this annual meeting so pray for its success and for the security of the people attending. 3. Numerous Pastors have upcoming Baptismal Services (Glory!). This month’s requests also shared the need for 15 more land lots and church buildings / meeting places (Some of which are churches evangelizing their community to build other churches- Glory). 4. Other requests include health issues, family issues (Yes, our Pastors and workers are human), and the need for water pumps and latrines. Thank You for your Prayers- They really do make a difference!
David Aycock (Brazil) Thank you South Carolina for your prayers and continued financial support. You have helped us through the years to keep plowing, sowing and reaping in the field of Brazil. We are preparing five people for baptism. The discipleship of our new converts is going well. Last night after the service (5th of February) we had a reveal party for our daughter Autumn and son-in-law Rodney. They are having another girl! Annette and I are so grateful for their participation in our ministry here in Barbacena, Brazil. Please continue to pray for the construction of our Christian School. Our reserves will be running out at the end of this month. We are counting on the faithfulness of God’s people! Perhaps you will feel lead of the Lord to help us see this $300,000 project to its completion.
Jonathan/Amy Postlewaite – Just a few minutes ago we finished our first Adult English Club. It was a small gathering of people in which we used a Christian song and a couple of Bible verses to teach basic English and to prompt a discussion. Three believers and one non-believer came. We felt like it was a great success and hope to see it continue and grow. Amy has talked to a few parents about the prospect of starting an English club for kids. There is a lot of interest in the idea and we hope that we can get something going soon. These clubs serve as a great way to get to know parents to whom we hope to share the Gospel. As an American many people here want to hear my views of our new president. When this happens I try to transition from a discussion about politics to an opportunity to talk about my faith and how it affects my opinion of the current situation in America. Pray that I will be able to go further than just talking about my faith to be able to invite others to learn more as well.
Matt/Hailie Deckard (Ecuador) Are stateside and raising support to go to Ecuador to work in the Christian school, Jungle Kids for Christ. To schedule services contact Matt at email@example.com
Neil/ Mandi Morgan (Spain) Our first community workshop was in January and had over 20 in attendance. The weekly workshops cover a variety of topics. Neil recently spoke in one of them concerning fear and how to overcome it. We are excited as well that we have had several visitors to our church lately who have come back for the last few Sundays. Please continue to pray for the outreach of the workshops and the growth of the Esperanza church. Please pray also for Neil. He has been having many migraines along with other symptoms. He is currently undergoing testing to determine what is causing his headaches. firstname.lastname@example.org
Randy/Kris Valandingham (Aiken). The Home Mission Board was able to purchase a used mobile home for the Valandingham’s to live in. Pray for them as it is being set up and renovated.
Tim/ Kristi Johnson (Spain) Pray for our weekly Bible studies where we often have a good mixture of mature believers, unsaved contacts, and newly-discipled Christians. Our ladies are beginning a new study called “Discerning the Voice of God”, while the men are studying the book of I Peter, verse by verse. Pray that each person who attends these studies will grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Where Hast Thou Gleaned Today?
The Historical definition of the word glean is to gather left over grain after a field has been harvested. We understand from Scripture the Corners of the fields were to be left unharvested so that the poor could come and glean something to eat. Naomi had noticed that Ruths portion of grain had exceded her expectations, prompting her to inquire as to where she had gleaned that day. Obviously she had found favor with the man in whom’s field she had gleaned.
A similar thing happens when I am able to listen to the wonderful preachers of our state. The ground has been tilled, seed has been sown, the watering done, and often a soul is saved in a wonderful harvest, but there is always some grain the Lord will have left for me that I can use the next week to battle the devil, or take and make into another message to help someone else. I find he still leaves us handfuls on purpose!
Ru 2:19a And her mother in law said unto her, Where hast thou gleaned to day? and where wroughtest thou? blessed be he that did take knowledge of thee.
