Missions

Andy Moore (Brazil)  The Lord continues to give us opportunities to reach people.

We have had 15 visitors come to our church services in the last two weeks.  Continue to pray that the Lord will work in people’s hearts and that His Word will not return void.  Please pray specifically for Fabiana and Jéssica, two ladies that were saved in our church last year, but who are now struggling spiritually.

Bobby Poole (Brazil) Love to all of you. I am still doing fine, health wise and still able to stay busy. Thanks for the prayers of our SC folks!

Carlisle Hanna (India) From Pastor Stephen: Thanks for visits to flood affected areas and for His blessings in suffering. Pray for Uncle’s health. Pray for people who lost their houses and what little they had. Pray for Gopal Kisku and his hugent need of a house. Pray for my wife’s treatment and for other sick people. Pray for our ministry as all roads are closed. Please remember one unspoken request.

David Aycock  (Brazil) Thank you South Carolina for your faithful support and prayers. In the month of September we are having a special drive to raise $13,000.00 to finish our Christian School building. Please consider a special offering for our project.  Please pray for Marcos and Jeane. We are having a weekly Bible study with them. They have many hurdles to overcome. We are trusting the will allow the grace of God to bring salvation and victory in their lives. May God continue to bless your ministry as you faithfully serve Him, David and Annette – Barbacena, Brazil

Jonathan/Amy Postlewaite – Next Sunday October 22nd, we will host our first “gathering” in our house. The theme will be “Is there more to life than this?” Our plan is for this to be the beginning of a monthly event for people from the various Bible studies that we hope to start and something to invite unbelievers to when they ask about what our services looks like. Please pray that God will help us to draw together the people whom he wants to be there, that Christians who attend will be encouraged and/or challenged, and that the unbelievers who attend will hear a clear presentation of the Gospel message.

Matt/Hailie Deckard (Ecuador) Are in Ecuador and are getting settled in. Pray for them as they transition into ministry there.  mattdeckard.10@gmail.com

Neil/ Mandi Morgan (Spain) Praise the Lord we had 9 visitors at church Sunday. Pray that they will come back and learn more about our Savior. Praise the Lord also that we had 3 new students in our English class last week. Pray for us as we build relationships with them. Randy/Kris Valandingham (Aiken).  Today he received the results from the mass they removed during his surgery, and we are praising the Lord there is no cancer! Continue to pray for the church in Aiken as they move forward for The Lord!

Tim/ Kristi Johnson (Spain) We are thankful for your prayers for our ministry here in Spain.  This week we’ve been quite concerned about the region around Barcelona succeeding from Spain.  We just saw on the news that they have signed a “Declaration of Independence” from Spain, and then immediately signed a suspension of it.  We don’t know exactly what that will mean for the country, but we are glad that we trust in a God who already knows what will happen during this time of uncertainty.  Continue to pray for unity in the country of Spain.

Mirial Gainer (Japan) Continues to care for her mother. Please remember them both in prayer

Do you like to drive fast?

On this day in 2008 a Belgium man named Luc Costermans drove a borrowed Lamborghini Gallardo 192 miles per hour. Now this is nowhere near the fastest time set, by a driver, but what makes this feat special is that Costermans is Blind! He accomplished this feat because of a few things.

  1. The right vehicle- A car with the ability to drive that fast
  2. The right tools- Loads of navigational equipment in the vehicle
  3. The right help- A driving coach seated in the passenger seat beside him

Through the use of these things in a sense Costermans was able to see well enough (metaphorically speaking) to accomplish a great feat.

Jesus gives us all the things that we need, which pertain unto life and godliness. Because of this we echo the words of the hymn writer who said “I once was blind, now I see”

2Pe 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
