Disaster Relief Efforts
It looks like the Lord spared South Carolina for the most part from major effects of Hurricane Irma. However, there was some significant flooding in some of our coastal areas. If you or your family are in need of some assistance tree/debris removal etc you can submit your request to email@example.com and put “Disaster Relief” in the subject line. Let us continue to remember our brothers and sisters in both Florida and Texas as they deal with ongoing rebuilding efforts. If you would like to donate to the hurricane relief efforts you can make your check payable to SCFWB State Office and mail to PO Box 9 Turbeville, SC 29162 (Please put SCFWB DRT Hurricane Relief) in the memo line.

Andy Moore (Brazil) The Lord continues to give us opportunities to reach people.
We have had 15 visitors come to our church services in the last two weeks. Continue to pray that the Lord will work in people’s hearts and that His Word will not return void. Please pray specifically for Fabiana and Jéssica, two ladies that were saved in our church last year, but who are now struggling spiritually.
Bobby Poole (Brazil) I preached a series of sermons on What we “are” (Sinners, hearers, believers, saved, born into the family of our Lord, Children of the Lord, reconcilators, ambassadors, witnesses…) Recently, at the close of the service, I ask everyone to join hands and we repeat together the Apostolic Blessing (II Cor. 13:13) “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God (the Father), and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you (us, all) now and for evermore”. It seems to be a blessing to all and helps give the feeling that we are one family! I then ask everyone to shake hands with those around them, and if they are visitors, give them a good welcome.
Carlisle Hanna (India) From Pastor Bikas: Pray for Pastor Chandra’s complete healing. Pray for ministry in Nepal and South India. Pray for Raiganj area and for flood affected people. Pray for my family who are all unsaved. Pray for my ministry.
Jiten: Pray for all flood affected people. Pray for Junglabhita and Malagachh churches. Pray for revival and unity. Pray for some who are sick — Peter’s wife, Rajen Murmu’s mother. Pray for all the youth, evangelists and church planters. Please remember three unspoken requests.
David Aycock (Brazil) Thank you South Carolina for your faithful support and prayers. In the month of September we are having a special drive to raise $13,000.00 to finish our Christian School building. Please consider a special offering for our project. Please pray for Marcos and Jeane. We are having a weekly Bible study with them. They have many hurdles to overcome. We are trusting the will allow the grace of God to bring salvation and victory in their lives. May God continue to bless your ministry as you faithfully serve Him, David and Annette – Barbacena, Brazil
Jonathan/Amy Postlewaite – Please pray for our efforts to minister among the international students who attend the medical university. It seems like more opportunities are starting to come our way. Last night a girl from the United Kingdom rang our doorbell because she was looking for one of our neighbors. We were able to talk to her for several minutes and share our contact information. This afternoon I will be meeting with a guy from Sweden in order to help him study Bulgarian. In the next couple of weeks I am hoping to start a Friday night gathering / Bible study in English to which we will invite students. I told you last week that our daughters Anna and Jonna both started back to school on Friday September 15th. We are thankful that so far they are doing well. We are also thankful that we have able to reconnect with other parents, especially from Anna’s class. Please pray that these connections will provide opportunities for evangelism. Our annual church retreat will take place this weekend from Friday September 22nd to Sunday September 24th. This will be a gathering of people from four different places where our team is working, including four people from our city. There will be both Christians and nonbelievers. Please pray that God will use this time to encourage and strengthen the Christians and that someone who is not a believer will give their lives to Christ during this time.
Matt/Hailie Deckard (Ecuador) Are in Ecuador and are getting settled in. Pray for them as they transition into ministry there. firstname.lastname@example.org
Neil/ Mandi Morgan (Spain) We began our community workshops and then we were told that our permission to use the community center had not been renewed. We have submitted the appropriate requests and now we are waiting to hear from the city government. Will you please join us in praying that our request will be renewed, that the workshops will be able to begin again in October, and that many will come to the Lord through them? Also our English classes at the university will begin this Wednesday. Will you please be in prayer for these classes and the relationships we are able to build with the students?
Randy/Kris Valandingham (Aiken). Today he received the results from the mass they removed during his surgery, and we are praising the Lord there is no cancer! Continue to pray for the church in Aiken as they move forward for The Lord!
Tim/ Kristi Johnson (Spain) September is here and we are gearing up for lots of activities in the coming weeks and months. Please pray for our family as we will be carrying the entire load of the Alpedrete work by ourselves, as Anthony and Lea Edgmon are in the States for six months. Pray that God will continue to raise up leaders in our church who will take on more responsibilities during this time. We are starting our 20th year here in Spain, and we appreciate all that you have meant to us over the years.

A Life Made Over
Jer 18:3 Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. 4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. 5 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 6 O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.
