Andy Moore (Brazil)  Our church here in Juiz de Fora, Brazil was priveleged to host the annual, regional fellowship of Brazilian FWB churches.  For most, it was the first time they had seen our new church building.  There were more than 150 participants from the region.  Our hearts were stirred by the preaching of God’s Word and through the God honoring music.

Please continue to pray for the movement of FWB to expand throughout  Brazil.

Bobby Poole (Brazil) The First FWB Church of Ribeirão Preto, baptized 20 new converts recently.  John has conducted 5 weddings, so far this year and at this point, they will have 7 babies born, this year, in the Church family. Pray for the salvation of an eighty year old man named Carlos who in his latter years has lost family and home due to wrong choices he has made throughout his life. We continue to build the Christian School building. The Lord has provided thus far. Would you consider giving a special offering for this cause? May God continue to bless, David and Annette

I’ve Come Too Far To Turn Back!

Ge 22:1 ¶ And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.

2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

Here we see the trial of a lifetime being placed upon Abraham, the friend of God. I would suspect that most of us know the story. It is that God has commanded Abraham to take his son, up to an appointed place and offer him there as a burnt sacrifice unto the Lord. Immediately our red flags go up when we here anything like this and they should because we know that is something that defies our understanding of a living God. Well to be honest with you it defied what Abraham knew about God also. But what we see here is Abraham being obedient unto the Lord.

Now what I want to say to you today is that I don’t know where you are in your walk with God but wherever you are you have come too far to turn back know. And for Abraham if there ever was anything that would make him turn his back on God it was this trial. How could God make a promise to me and then tell me to kill the son of that promise? I imagine this question running through the mind of Abraham.

But let me remind you of something about Abraham. Many years before as a man living in Ur of the Chaldees  God called him to leave all that he knew and to take all that he had and go to a foreign land. At this point it seem the trial of Abram’s faith was; do you love me more than father and mother? The answer came in the form of unquestioned obedience a resounding yes. Now the trial of faith seems to be; Abraham do you love me more than your son? We also see here that in fact he did.

One could ask how Abraham could go through this great trial with such obedience. I think that the answer lays in the thought “I have come too far to turn back now.
