Andy Moore (Brazil) This new year got off to a great start. We had a watchnight service at our church with 40 people in which we prayed into the new year. We are preparing this month for our first baptismal service since moving into our new building and we have recently started a new Sunday school class. Thank you for our prayers as we head into 2017!
Bobby Poole (Brazil) Should a Christian have “Pride”? Some might misunderstand “Pride” so I will use the word “Thankful”! Geneva and I started the First FWB Church in Ribeirão in 1962. Today it is pastored by our son, John. During December the Church Choir gave 10 presentations! According to the person responsible for “Evangelism” in the Church, during December a group of 150 people distributed some 4,000 invitations for their Christmas program and gave out over 7,000 Gospel tracts. I´m “proud”, no, I rather use, “I´m thankful”. The First Church touched the lives of hundreds of people during December. Praise the Lord!
Carlisle Hanna (India) was granted an extension on his visa until February 17, 2017 He is Currently on his way back to the US from India. Please pray for safe travel.
David Aycock (Brazil) We are grateful for the way God is working here in Barbacena. In the month of November we baptized five people. They invited family members and friends to watch their baptism. We had many first time visitors. Fernando came forward two Sundays ago wanting to give his life to Christ. Pray for his spiritual growth. Thank you for your prayers and financial support. Please continue to pray and consider giving toward the construction of our Christian school. We need your help! David and Annette
Jonathan/Amy Postlewaite – Pray for T. T’s mother is a Christian whose late husband was a pastor. He and his mother and brother will very likely end up being a part of the church that we are trying to plant. I am trying to spend time with him in order to provide some male influence, to encourage him, and to help influence him to make upcoming life decisions in light of Scripture.

Tim/ Kristi Johnson (Spain) Happy New Year to everyone! In Spain, we eat 12 grapes at midnight on December 31st, as we listen to the 12 dongs of the clock. (Thankfully we can buy seedless grapes or it would be impossible!) Legend says that the 12 grapes will bring you 12 months of good luck. While we don’t believe in luck, we are looking forward to 12 months of God’s blessings as we continue in the ministry. Thanks for being a part of what God is doing here in Spain!

An Attitude of Gratitude
1Th 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
What are your dominating personality traits? Are you normally happy, sad, nonchalant, critical, carefree, or dramatic? How about thankful? Now that is a personality trait worth developing.
I would like to point out some traits of those that are thankful.
- They are aware of the fragility of life.
- More precious is that life
- More of that life is lived fully
- They are aware of the fleetingness of riches.
- How temporary they are.
- They are aware of the worth of others.
- The value of a soul
- They are aware of the graciousness of God.
- They know that they exist because God is gracious
