2016 Leadership Conference |Developing Young Leaders
Antioch, TN—The 2016 Leadership Conference will be held Monday and Tuesday, December 56, at Nashville Airport Marriott Hotel. The conference will address the theme “Developing Young Leaders.” As corporations and businesses struggle with an aging demographic, the church finds itself facing the same challenges. Many elder ministers are passing off the scene, and there is a great need for the younger generation to find its place in ministry and the denomination.

Andy Moore (Brazil) The Lord continues to lead and bless the ministry here in Juiz de Fora, Brazil. Our church will have its 7th homecoming on the 20th of November. We are trusting the Lord for a packed house and most importantly for His presence and power in the service. Please help us pray that the planning, preparation, invitations, and special effort will result in the seed of the gospel being sown in the hearts of the Brazilian people so that fruit will be produced for His glory. – The Moores
Bobby Poole (Brazil) Our Annual Business meeting of the Marincek Church will be on Nov. 26 (moved from the 03 of December). At this point we do not have a candidate to become our Pastor. Pr. Lucas felt that he could not do the Church justice, by working full time at the Post Office. Please pray that the Lord will direct the Church in finding the right person to take my place. The choir of the First Church will present their Christmas program at the Marincek Church on December 03.

During the months of October and November we are offering two College level courses through our local Seminary (Church History and Evangelism). We have 15 people who are signed up. The Lord has opened the door for us to begin preparations to open an Elementary Christian School as a ministry of our Esperança Church. We have started the building project. Please prayerfully consider how much you and your church could contribute toward this project (designate to Aycock Christian School Building Fund). We will give more details in our upcoming newsletter.
Jonathan/Amy Postlewaite – Pray for a friend named “Kristian.” He and his wife (both Bulgarians) have lived in South Carolina for the past 10 years, and his wife became a believer through the international student ministry of one of Amy’s mentors from college. Kristian came to church for the first time at Easter last April. He is now in Bulgarian facing the responsibility of caring for a dying mother in the hospital and a blind father who doesn’t have anyone to care for Him. He has become unemployed because of the need to fulfill this family responsibility, and now they are in danger of losing their green card status. Pray that God would provide for this couple on many levels, and that during this difficult time, they would SEE Him and be drawn to Him.

Only One Came Back
Why did only one cleansed leper return to thank Jesus? The following are nine suggested reasons why the nine did not return:
One waited to see if the cure was real.
One waited to see if it would last.
One said he would see Jesus later.
One decided that he had never had leprosy.
One said he would have gotten well anyway.
One gave the glory to the priests.
One said, “O, well, Jesus didn’t really do anything.”
One said, “Any rabbi could have done it.”
One said, “I was already much improved.”
Charles L. Brown, Content The Newsletter, June, 1990, p. 3.
Lu 17:12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: 13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. 14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. 15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. 17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? 18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. 19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
