INFO Revised!

We are excited to announce plans for our fall youth retreat “GLOW IN THE DARK” with Preacher Wesley Campbell. It will be back in MYRTLE BEACH this year on Friday November 4th through Saturday November 5th, 2016, at Garden City Chapel and Retreat Center…near Garden City Pier. We have finalized the details of accommodations and the events for Saturday. The price WAS $115  … NOW IT IS LOWERED TO $100 per person,  and will be more affordable to our youth and adults! This includes lodging, 2 meals, t-shirt, and the events on Saturday. Please share this with your youth workers and youth groups and your churches, the price is for all adult chaperones and all youth. AGES 12-18. We need you to go ahead and start getting your youth names and t-shirt sizes together and we will need each deposit by October 21st, 2016! The deadline for the deposits is needed for everybody, in years past waiting on the deposits and the paper work until you arrive at the retreat has delayed the scheduling and getting the t-shirts. Again, we need all information and deposits by October 21st, 2016! The applications/registration forms and more details will be posted on our scfwb.com website under youth ministries by the end of The week.. I have included all the basic information you need to know to share with your chaperones and youth from your churches, if you have any questions please contact Preacher Teddy Rabon at (843)-520-6407. We are looking forward to a GREAT time in the Lord, please be praying for our retreat and try your best to send your young people. “GLOW IN THE DARK 2016”

Antioch, TN—The 2016 Leadership Conference will be held Monday and Tuesday,           December 56,  at Nashville Airport Marriott  Hotel.  The conference will address the    theme  “Developing Young Leaders.” As corporations and businesses struggle with    an aging demographic, the church finds itself facing          the same challenges. Many elder       ministers are passing off the scene, and there is a great need for the younger generation       to find its place in ministry and the denomination.

Andy Moore (Brazil)  “The Lord has been so good to us in Juiz de Fora, Brazil.  In the month of July, we had several special events in our newly constructed church building.  We had our first wedding, our first VBS, and our first celebration of a 25th wedding anniversary.  Due to the special events, we had more than 400 people pass through the doors of our church in July.  Please continue to pray for the gospel to penetrate the hearts of the Brazilian people.”

Bobby Poole (Brazil) I arrived back in Brasil on Sept. 4th (Geneva and mine, 56´s wedding anniversary). I caught a cold the last couple of days in the States, but am feeling much better now. I would like to thank each of you for your kindnesses and love showed to me, during my short visit to SC. There is still a lot of work that needs to be done, here in Brasil. Pray for our Churches and pastors. Pray that I can be a blessing to them as I try to visit as many as possible. Brasil is passing through some hard times, politically and financially. But the Lord is working in hearts and lives. Our FWB Churches, have and are “making a difference!”

Tim/ Kristi Johnson (Spain) Tim/ Kristi Johnson (Spain) Tim/Kristi Johnson (Spain)  Recently the Alpedrete Church was given permission to use the local Cultural Center on November 12.  For the past several years, we’ve been asking City Hall to allow us to have our Christmas musical there, and the answer has always been NO.  But we finally got a YES.  While it’’s not exactly the best date for a “Christmas” program, we are excited for this opportunity to publicly share a Gospel presentation here in Alpedrete.  Pray for our church as we finalize preparations for this event, which will be a musical based on truths from the Bible.  People of all ages from our church will be working together on songs, stage decorations, invitations, etc.  We only have about six weeks to pull everything together, so there will definitely be some busy days ahead.

The Leader God Wants (Reconciling democracy with Daniel 2:21)

I am determined to not allow this to be a political message, but simply a statement from the word of God with regard to our current political situation. As I look at the two candidates for President, I cant help but think “Is this really the best America has to offer? Is this really the cream of the crop in America?” If so we are in dire trouble. But then I think of Daniel 2:21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: and wonder how does the sovereign will of God play in to the democratic society. This verse makes me think that either candidate for us may be the result of God’s judgement upon us for the poor choices of our nation. For us the choices of this election may be the same type of choice God gave to David with the seven years of famine, three months before our foes or three days’ pestilence in the land.

Something to think on.
