Youth News

Fall Youth Retreat;

Theme “GLOW IN THE DARK”

Theme Verse 1 Peter 2:9

We are excited to announce plans for our fall youth retreat “GLOW IN THE DARK” with Preacher Wesley Campbell. It will be back in MYRTLE BEACH this year on Friday November 4th through Saturday November 5th, 2016. We are finalizing the details of accommodations and the event for Saturday. The price will be $115 and this includes lodging, 2 meals, t-shirt, and the event on Saturday. Please share this with your youth workers and youth groups and your churches, the price is for all adult chaperones and all youth. We need you to go ahead and start getting your youth names and t-shirt sizes together and we will need each deposit by October 20th, 2016! The deadline for the deposits is needed for everybody, in years past waiting on the deposits and the paper work until you arrive at the retreat has delayed the scheduling and getting the t-shirts. Again, we need all information and deposits by October 20th, 2016! The applications/registration forms and more details will be posted on our SCFWB.com website under youth ministries after the details are finalized. I have included all the basic information you need to know to share with your chaperones and youth from your churches, if you have any questions please contact Preacher Teddy Rabon at (843)-520-6407. We are looking forward to a GREAT time in the Lord, please be praying for our retreat and try your best to send your young people. “GLOW IN THE DARK 2016”

SCFWB Announces partnership with Protect My Ministry

Proper Screening of Church employees and volunteers can help to both protect your ministry from problems and defer liability, but it can be a difficult and confusing process. That’s why the SCFWB State Association has teamed up with Protect My Ministry, to provide churches and Organizations which are members of the State Association to get background checks on their employees and volunteers at group prices.

Go to http://www.scfwb.com/back-ground-checks/  and follow the prompts, to start screening today.

It is recommended that you give them a call BEFORE signing up: 800-319-5581.  There are several technical and package options which can be helpful and it’s always easier to get it right the first time than it is to fix it later.

Consider This

Heb 3:1 ¶ Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

I do not know where you are on life’s journey, but no matter where you are we all need help along the way. One of the biggest lies of the devil is to tell people that they don’t need God, that they can make it on their own. With all of our modern technological advancements, in almost all areas of life it seems that man has been trying to make God or the concept of God obsolete. But I am here today to tell you that I need him now more than ever.

Though man has scientifically figured out nearly every aspect of botany, and applied it to farming, it still takes God to send the rain, and it still takes God to cause that seed to germinate, and it still takes God to give the increase.

Though man has figured most of the functions of the body, and can operate replace and transplant vital organs. It is still God who sustains a heart beat, it is still God that provides the air we breathe.

Though man may think that with all his knowledge he has achieved some higher form of existence. He is still born a sinner with a sin nature and continually stands in need of a redeemer.

Have you taken time to consider him today?
