National Convention (The Path to Revival)

In July, Free Will Baptists will return to Kansas City, Missouri, for the fifth time in the convention’s 80-year history. Settled at the junction of Interstates 70, 35, and 49, this Heartland city lies within a day’s drive of most Free Will Baptist churches. Attendees can expect sunny July days and Midwestern friendliness in the largest city in Missouri.

Speakers Ben Evans (MO), Wayne Miracle (GA), Cory Thompson (OK), Brad Ryan (IL), Richard Robinson (MO), and Marc Neppl (VA) will address the theme, “The Path to Revival” from 2 Chronicles 7:14. Those unable to attend the convention are encouraged to take advantage of online streaming at www.nafwb.org, courtesy of the Free Will Baptist Media Commission. The theme will also be emphasized by a prayer rally on Tuesday morning, when convention-goers will gather to ask God for revival.

SCFWB Announces partnership with Protect My Ministry

Proper Screening of Church employees and volunteers can help to both protect your ministry from problems and defer liability, but it can be a difficult and confusing process. That’s why the SCFWB State Association has teamed up with Protect My Ministry, to provided churches and Organizations which are members of the State Association to get background checks on their employees and volunteers at group prices.

Go to http://www.scfwb.com/back-ground-checks/  and follow the prompts, to start screening today.

It is recommended that you give them a call BEFORE signing up: 800-319-5581.  There are several technical and package options which can be helpful and it’s always easier to get it right the first time than it is to fix it later.

Missions

Andy Moore (Brazil)  Remember Nathan Kimbrell (missionary assisting Andy & Andrea Moore) in your prayers. Several weeks ago he woke up & has lost almost total hearing in one ear. The Dr.’s are treating him with antibiotics to hopefully clear this up. Things are continue to go great for Brazil & Beyond Ministries. We are continuing to see visitors & had the opportunity to lead a lady to the Lord this past week in our services. Please pray for Fabiana that the Lord will continue to do a work in her life as we continue to minister to her. Also, we are planning our first VBS this year in the month of July. We are excited about this new outreach to our community. God is continuing to bless & souls are continuing to be reached. Thank you for your support & most of all your prayers.

Bobby Poole (Brazil) The Marincek Church Board asked Pr. Lucas Vieira to come and preach and teach the Adult class in SS, during the time that I will be in the States (July, through part of September). Pr. Lucas is a young pastor in the First Church and graduated from our Seminary and Bible Institute. He is a good preacher and John says he does a good job teaching (he was teaching an adult class in the First Church.). He is married and they are expecting their first child, about the end of the year.  I told him that when I returned to Brasil, the Church Board would discuss with him the possibility of being elected, the pastor of the Church.  Please pray with us.

Carlisle Hanna (India) Please continue to remember the work in India, pray especially for the pastors, and evangelists as they preach the gospel.

David Aycock  (Brazil) We enjoyed having our four children and our two sons-in-law here in Brazil to celebrate our 30 yrs of marriage and 30 yrs of ministry. Annette and I are grateful for your prayers and support through the years. David

Jonathan/Amy Postlewaite Please pray for us as we travel to Tennessee and then on to West Virginia, where we will stay until the end of June. Pray also about a bill that was recently put forward in the Bulgarian parliament. The bill is meant to target radical Islam, but because of its language it would affect the efforts of Christian missionaries as well.

Neil/ Mandi Morgan (Spain) Our English classes for this term will be ending soon since the university closes for the summer. Pray we will be able to stay in contact with our students during July and August. Also, our six month waiting period is finished, so we can now begin the process of getting our Spanish driver’s license. Neil will take the written theory test this Friday. This is a much more difficult exam than the US version. Please pray he will be able to recall everything.

nmorgan@fwbgo.com

Randy/Kris Valandingham (Aiken) Please continue to pray for Rejoice FWB Fellowship as they minister in Aiken SC.

Tim/ Kristi Johnson (Spain) This recently, four people were baptized in the Alpedrete Church.  We are especially happy that our daughter, Ana, was one of this group.  It was a beautiful day, which filled both our hearts and our eyes (with tears)!  We are thankful that God is working in the hearts of people here in our town and bringing them into a relationship with Him.

Mirial Gainer (Japan) Is now retired to Florence SC, and is taking care of her mother.

Hope in Christ

George Bernard Shaw is perhaps most renowned as a free thinker and liberal philosopher. In his last writings we read, “The science to which I pinned my faith is bankrupt. It’s counsels, which should have established the millennium, led, instead, directly to the suicide of Europe. I believed them once. In their name I helped to destroy the faith of millions of worshippers in the temples of a thousand creeds. And now they look at me and witness the great tragedy of an atheist who has lost his faith.”

As we look around today we see many things, but one thing missing from most of society is Hope. Lift up your head Christian because our hope is in Christ!

Tit 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

“Prosphero Theos”

Chris Todd

Col 1:18
